Additional Information
The war which began in the feature film STAR WARS: EPISODE II- ATTACK OF THE CLONES continues in this animated series directed by Genndy Tartakovsky. The separatists and the republic engage in a blowout fight, with Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker, and Yoda defending the republic against the likes of Count Dooku, an alien bounty hunter, and many others. The program features a unique format that consists of many short segments ranging from two to three minutes in length. In each micro-episode, new characters join the ongoing battle of good against evil. This Emmy Award winning series has earned critical acclaim for it's highly original visual style, which features characters rendered in an elongated manner that brings attention to the drawing process.
I bought this DVD as I recently got into the modern version of The Clone Wars (CGI version).
This one is a lot of really short (and by short I mean 2 or 3 minutes each) versions that could potentially run parallell to the newer versions.
No bad story-lines, but anakin's voice is REALLY annoying.
What is there to dislike in this animated addition to the STAR WARS SAGA. Set between episodes 2 & 3 it fleshes out some of the story line within the much loved CLONE WARS period. The animation, like Samurai Jack, is a joy to behold, the camera pans in/out and flicks around the action at a frenzied pace. All the favorites are here and more, Anakin battling the Sith Witch Asajj Ventress has become stuff of legend, Durge on the swoop bike against Obi on his is top class.
If STAR WARS is your thing then this must sit in your collection.
Pieces together attack of the clones and revenge of the sith in an animated format. Very easy watching for all the family kids will especially enjoy it however not the greatest story line or animations consider the amazing job they have just done on the new animated movie. A must for all star wars fans though wouldn't pay shop price for it but still a good piece that sheds light onto the story line between attack of the clones and revenge of the sith. There is also a second volume to this story so both are needed to piece together the story line upto episode 3
The award winning animated Clone Wars series was originally shown as single episodes in the run up to the cinema release of Revenge Of the Sith ... but can be enjoyed best together here on the dvd.
Stylish animation, action driven narrative and a snappy script make this watchable, enjoyable and entertaining.
Highly recommended for any fans of the Force (young and old).
Our son loves this and this is why we purchased it, he loves anything to do with star wars and the house is full of lego stars/dvd's/ pictures/ posters you name it he's got it
