Van-derful as ever
I have to confess to coming late to Van admiration but in recent years I've been playing catch up. On nearly every song of every album he manages to create pure emotion and I have the suspicion that he could sing the phone book and do the same but here is another example of that kind of album. I loved the title track, Stranded and Evening Train but the whole album is soulful and joyful to listen to. I'm not expert enough to say where it would feature in a ranking of his entire output but I will definitely be returning to it from time to time.
