Encapsulates the spirit of the film - well thought up!
As usual with Tom Selleck, this film is not only a good western, but shows the lives and times portrayed as they probably really existed. A good yarn, and goes well together with 'Quigly down under' and, of course, 'Crossfire Trail' which was slightly the best of the 3. Tom stands tall in the part, much like Gregory Peck in 'Stalking Moon', another cracker of an adult western, raw in tooth and claw, and keeps you on the edge of your seat! just like 'Hostiles' a slow burning western punctuated with explosive action and brooding stars. Terrific entertainment all round. My wife has watched all these many times, but still jumps with surprise at certain scenes, even though she by now knows what is coming and when. Whenever our grandchildren come to see us they all cuddle up on the settee and watch one or more of these films.
