Major features include 6-channel discrete amplification (100W x 6), Yamaha's Digital ToP-ART design concept, Quad-Field CINEMA DSP, 25 surround program, SILENT CINEMA, and learning-capable/present remote control. Yamaha HTR-5590 6.1 Channel
I bought this to replace one of the same model that died after 15 years, so you already know I love it. The sound is fantastic, has plenty of inputs (including phono) and it's simple to operate. Yamaha HTR 5590 stereo/home theater receiver, still one of the best.
Has held up well for a 13 yr. old stereo receiver. A good testimony to the quality of electrical engineering and manufacturing by Yamaha. I would put this receiver up against anything manufactured today. I was lucky to find one that wasn't abused and still in good condition. You have to shop very carefully when looking for used stereo components.. I bought this Yamaha HTR 5590 because I already owned one that I bought new in 2003 and have been very pleased with its continued good sound and reliability after 13 yrs.
