A film of its time, couldn't be made, or shown, today.
The plot is very simple. Two studious and unwordly young men go to college (in America) and are picked on by the "jocks" and the "in-girls" for being "nerds". They are thrown together with the other nerds and outcasts and the "fun" ensues. The film contains scenes of bullying, mild homophobic stereotyping, sexual harassment, "lighthearted" violence, property destruction, voyeurism, self-conscious blacksploitation, and a good-natured rape (non-violent). All good clean fun in the 1980s but unacceptable today. To be honest, if you're over the age of 40, not overly politically correct and like to see the "little persons" fighting back, you might enjoy this, especially if you were, or are, a nerd. Might be an idea not to watch it with the family or on a date though. Not that there is any sex or much nudity, one scene with a few topless shots and a very short glimpse of pubic hair, it's just that attitudes have changed since the film was made.
