Poor movie and be aware, region 2.
Be vary careful about buying DVD's from the U.K. or anywhere outside of the US, If a DVD is nor Region 1 you will have trouble playing it machines in the US. Apple machines will play it but you have to authorize it to play and you have a limit of 5 times you can do that. As for the movie itself this DVD is a poor representation of the book and the story sufferers greatly. Forget this, if you enjoyed the book stop there and don't try to extend that enjoyment with this movie.

A very thoughtful, sometimes a bit muddled, film inspired by the Convent of Stanbrook Abbey. A very moving and atmospheric film in parts. Some great actresses.
