This is the Comic hero of Japan brought to real life on the screen. Realistic Katana sword defence and attack in a moving tail of feudal Japan. Aya Ueto takes on the role of Azume, who after her mother tragically dies is taken in by the strange Samurai Master to eventually become one of the most feared assassins in all Japan. There is violence but it has been toned down from the comic strips however definitely NOT FOR YOUNGSTERS. Any Martial Artist will find this gives another insite into the code of honour sought by the Samrai and the dificulty of putting down the sword. Director Ryuhei Kitamura has stayed true to the original and as such there is a great deal of action. In Azumi 2 I did not think you felt as close to the characters as you did in Azumi 1 but there is certainly lots of action and quite a few plot twists.Read full review

This is 1+2 Azumi, The 1st one was ok more action pact, sadly l found it boring! Its about a young girl who becomes part of an assassin group , They are hired to kill 3 warlords! They believe to stop a war,Its very graphic ,men losing there heads,face/body slicing in bits plenty of blood, she fights 200 men kills with 1 slash of sword, l found action amusing ,The 2nd film was more sentimental (l fell asleep ) did have action not that great ,The characters are,nt likeable, action amatureish , not saying total rubbish ,cant say it will blow you away either!

Azumi and it's sequel Azumi 2 are really edge of the seat type of films with plenty of sword and slashing action which will be up any lover of this genre's street . This pretty young girl is really a fearless and deadly assassin who has been trained since childhood . The bodycount is simply unbelievable and the characters are really weird , especially the baddies . I just hope that there is an Azumi 3 quite soon ! Well worth the money , I got it for almost £8 and it was a real bargain . Simply stunning and beautifully made films .
Azumi and Azumi 2 are two beautifully shot films with a simple story line, wonderful choreography, gorgeous scenery and splendid special effects. azumi tells the story of a small band of assassins, whose job it is to prevent ambitious warlords from disrupting the peace of japan during the tokogawa shogunate.
hours of enjoyment with this dvd box set, reasonably priced including p+p so cheaper and more conveniant than the high street stores
i like the moves there so well put together it's just a great film from begging to end. The way they use the samurai sword is so flowing from move to move aslo these actors did not even have any skills between them before making these films
sympatický oddechový film o dívce s japonským mečem, akce s velkou mírou nadsázky, tak se mi to líbí
