Superb old series
Although re-runs of The Professionals are what seems to be an integral part of ITV4 programming; these episodes are severely edited for content - mainly violence. Presented here then is set 1 of 4 of this excellent old series, which ran from late 1977 to 1982, featuring episodes 1 to 14 (in production order - which differs from the broadcast order as listed by the film and television buffs' bible, IMDB. Set 1 includes the episode Klansmen, which has never been broadcast because of racial content - fair enough - but what's harder to believe than its non transmission is that this awful story was scripted by the usually excellent Brian Clemens, aka Mr Avengers. My personal favourites are Close Quarters, where Bodie (Lewis Collins) has to face up to some unpleasant home truths about his job; the gorgeous Gabrielle Drake; and some nice location work on the Thames near Marlow; and When The Heat Cools Off, which, for reasons I've never heard explained, features a different opening titles film sequence from all others. At the time of writing (21/12/17), this four disc set set is available on eBay for under £6 and whets the appetite for sets 2, 3 & 4.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned
