Teenage geeks Gary and Wyatt are sick of being ignored by girls, abused by cool guys, and forced to spend their weekend nights watching nerdy old sci-fi movies. Left alone for the weekend, they use Wyatt's computer to create Lisa, a stunningly beautiful woman with a body that stops traffic, a heart of gold, and a genius IQ. The boys embark on an adventure with their creation, going to bars, driving Ferraris, throwing a killer party, and keeping Wyatt's psychotic older brother, Chet, in check. But in the end, they learn that wearing cool clothes, hanging out with cool kids, and being popular might not solve all their problems. Written and directed by the king of teen flicks, John Hughes, this film was released after 'Sixteen Candles' and in the same year as 'The Breakfast Club'. Like many of his films, Hughes's 'Weird Science' is set in fictional Shermer, Illinois. A young Robert Downey (without the 'Jr.') appears as Ian, a cool kid who takes pleasure in tormenting Gary and Wyatt.

    Complete comedy-fantasy genius from the late 80s legend producer John Hughes

    This film is an abosolute 80s classic and a dream to watch for any longtime loner out there!! It's now become one of my favourite films of all time. Who wouldn't want to create a woman into real life (who was cute, sexy, has unconditional love and thoughtful) from a computer to make all their dreams come true if they were living in solitude for so long and really unpopular! Adore this movie as their is so many laughs, the acting is great throughout and just can't beat a fantasy comedy like this! They don't make films like this anymore. A must buy, don't hesitate.... buy! buy! buy!

    good 1990's scientific fun

    this is a good movie if your a computer buff, the idea of making a woman from pictures and stuff is more than a pipe dream I suppose, but the movie is somehow a bit dated but enjoyable to say the least, having had this movie previously on video (remember them?) it is good to be able to watch it again, ESPECIALLY KELLY LE BROCK :-)
