The Brunton Atlas MNS GPS receiver is a navigational device, which has been specifically designed for hiking purposes. This Brunton GPS receiver uses 12 channels for satellite communication. It has 8 MB of internal flash memory which has been preloaded with maps and hiking trails of the USA and Hawaii. The memory of this 12-channel GPS receiver can be expanded via an SD memory card. The Brunton Atlas MNS GPS receiver uses the WAAS technology for navigational purposes and uses the data protocol of NMEA 0183. This Brunton GPS receiver features an electronic antenna and altimeter. The antenna of this device is built in; however, the user has the option of plugging in the external antenna for better reception. This 12-channel GPS receiver has a 3-inch LCD monochrome display which has a pixel resolution of 240x180. This GPS unit requires two AA batteries for operation and this gives it a continuous operational time of 12 hours. The refresh rate of this Brunton GPS receiver is one second.
