  • Fun to mess around with but the paper it prints out on is still a bit too small for any real use.

It's an old but neat little device back from the era when laptops had IrDA ports and all pocket PCs and PDAs had them as well so they could communicate. It oddly isn't terrible at printing over infrared - it's fast and isn't overly picky about how far away it is or whether or not it's pointing directly at the laptop's IrDA port. It's quite good at printing text but images tend to come out rather dark, even if you up the brightness. The drivers are a little lackluster but, come on, it's almost 20 years old and the only other way to connect it to a PC is via the serial port so one should just feel glad that it works. My only real, actual complaint is that it uses a rather unusual size of thermal paper that isn't made anymore so you either have to buy old stock which, with thermal paper, isn't always a good thing especially if the unopened packages of paper have been exposed to heat over the years OR you can buy regular sized A4 or A5 thermal paper that comes in individual sheets, cut them down to the right size and use those instead.
