Handy simple GPS
I've owned at least 5 of these units over the past 12 years and every time I break, lose, or give one away I find myself buying a replacement. They're easy to use, fairly rugged, fairly reliable given the age of the technology, and they have good battery life. Sometimes on cloudy days or in steep canyons they have a little trouble locking on to enough satellites to get or keep an accurate fix. The rubber button cover on the joystick loses the printed arrow within a few uses making it hard to figure out how to start the unit up unless you're familiar with them. This unit has a great feature that makes earlier eXplorist units almost worthless... with this unit you can attach a cable that uses USB to connect to your computer to upload waypoints you want to visit or download waypoints you marked while in the field. I've never used any other unit in the field because this one gets the job done at a price where you don't cry when you part ways as you tumble down a mountain:-)Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned
