It’s a big beast. Yes it grills and gets to a good, high temperature for browning. The plates are removable and very easy to clean with a better than average non-stick coating. Also, the drip tray stays in place – unlike another brand we once had. Spares are available so when the plates become worn, they can be replaced. However, the ‘automatic’ programmes and the colour display is a bit of a gimmick in my opinion. Fine if all you cook is burgers, sausages and beef steaks and possibly fish. Even so, you have to stand over it and whip the food out at the appropriate point to avoid over-cooking. Unfortunately the Tefal ‘Instructions for use’ booklet is silent over how to cook other foods. It says on page 10 “If you are uncertain about what cooking mode to use for other foods because it is not listed above, please refer to the ‘Cooking table for out of program food’ page 15. Page 15 is just cleaning instructions and the table does not appear elsewhere. Very poor proofreading.Read full review

Had to pay attention to the use instructions as has more options than I'm used to. Once I got used to it I'm very impressed. in my opinion it's far superior to George Foreman which I've had before. Looking forward to trying more things, so far have only cooked chicken which was perfectly cooked.
