Shimano Cheese
Sadly Shimano make this screw out of cheese. It is so easy to round out the tiny hex socket with even 1/8th of a turn too much. Lesson learnt, £5 later I know to only slightly snug it up. Bloke at the LBS who didn't have any in stock said it happens to a lot of people. Thankfully I could get one from eBay quickly. Managed to get the damaged one out with some vice grip pliers around the outside of the screw head. I've now saved that old one and hacksawed a slot in the head to take a size 1 screwdriver and kept it for emergencies.

Exactly as described. Shimano had "a laugh" when they made this in such soft Al that the 2mm hex-slot would "round out" so easily. Not funny.

Perfect Fit... it's a screw!
No thanks to evans cycles for selling me a bike with 2 bleed screws that were completely threaded. One trip to the shop to remove them later I had these installed, perfect fit, do what they need to do! Fitted on ultegra r8020 left & right shifters perfectly without leaks!
