An opportunity for reconcilement between son and mother evolves into anguish and taboo
It does have a comedy structure, but the tone is very sober and characters, depressive. Don't get me wrong: both aspects of the movie are great, but not comedy-like. I really enjoyed the subtleties and tension going on between Raymond and Susan, his mother. They build up into something devastating for both, especially for Ray, who just becomes more and more unstable until very end of the movie, when he finally "lets go". I really liked this movie. I wouldn't recommend it to comedy-seekers, but I do to drama lovers.
