This kit is better than the original nylon gear wheel assy. You must adjust mesh depth using shims, lube gears following a proper clean first. Bwar in mind now if you have a brush bar stall with say shoes laces or a cord, something else will break as this metal gear set won't...use your hoover with care and it will be fine.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

AirRam Drive Cog Assembly.

Revive your Air Ram
The gear fitted straight in replacing the original nylon cog and making my Air Ram work again. I didn’t need the shims but I can see they could be useful. The grease is a nice addition and makes a complete kit.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

It works!
My neighbour gave me her old Gtech as it was broken. After overcoming the battery not charging issue I noticed the brushes weren’t spinning. Installed the new metal drive cog after cleaning and greasing. Didn’t need the washers as the gear housing wasn’t damaged. I was particularly impressed how quickly it stops when the brushes get jammed. Must save the drive from damage. I’m confident it’s a permanent fix but it’s loader than our Dyson but extracts loads more dust and hairs. Not bad for a free one! ThanksVerified purchase: YesCondition: New

Not easy to install, lots of screws, but good finish on the cogs, does the job.
Original drive shaft that is in the Gtechs are steel with nylon cog ,this will wear out eventually, the new replacements are all steel.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
