This really measures up
I like the metal housing with the secure battery cover. I had a plastic one before and the battery cover broke and wouldn’t stay on. Wished I'd bought a cheaper, generic digital calipers, they'd be better quality.
Sharp edges on the outside of the jaws needed to be stoned to make them comfortable to use. Straight out of the box there is excessive play in the jaws. I previously bought a really cheap, Chinese, generic set of digital calipers. They lasted seven years of hard use and still had no discernable play in them when the electronics finally gave up - my fault I left them out in damp conditions. I still use them as comparitors. Good buy for the price.
Feels and looks tougher than I thought from the pictures and is accurate enough to measure internal and external parts on my bicycles so I can be sure I'm ordering the correct size spare bearings and parts. It also sees use at work when fabricating things from sheet metal - great for quickly seeing what thickness off cuts are. Digital vernier caliper
Bought a Branded “Silverline” tool but disappointed with the quality. Very scratchy movement when moving the slider, and battery housing is plastic not metal. The edges are not deburred which adds to the feeling of cheap eastern production. It has a 3 yr guarantee so let’s see. As for accuracy seems ok for a budget measuring tool. Adequate vernier for money
Action is not as smooth as it could be. Edges are sharp but the price is good. Measures as it should. Has useful auto shut off when not in use. Whe I close the caliper on zero the reading will creep up to 0.01 and 0.02 mm sometimes of its own accord. It's accuracy is quoted as 0.01 mm but I doubt it could be that accurate.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Cheap and cheerful.
I have a good 300mm vernier, but it cost more than twice as much as this one. The mechanism is a little scratchy but it's good enough for occasional use. Good choice for hobbyist use where precision measurement is required, but you won't be using it every day.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

As useful a G clamp
If you want to be give or take a millimetre than this will be just fine . Brand new out the box zeroed it measures a 3.5mm dowel pin as 2.9mm and 10mm as 9.9mm so better for bigger sizes useless for me.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Generally fine
We use these in our workshop for jobs where 0.5mm accuracy is good enough. They can of course measure below this but do jump around a little. They're cheap and useful just don't expect Mitutoyo performance from something costing a tenth of the price.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
