Great value for money
It does make my old Pioneer VSX-522 5.1 sound amateurish compare to this. I discovered there is a huge difference in the sound quality between 5.1 and 7.2. The sound is very clear and it picks up every details. I hear sounds on my old DVDs I never heard before. The downside of it... is if you listen to a bad recording like some on YouTube... it will sound bad. Like the review said on the internet... it has a little bit too much bass. But it should be possible to tweak it manually to your liking. All in all... at $749.00 ... it is great value for money and you won't find better at that price. Cheap, but definitely NOT nasty!
Upgraded my 8 year old Onkyo for the connectivity this Pioneer VSX-933 offers. For this alone it is worth the money, and you will not get better at this price point. It is a sweet sounding amp, and although not especially powerful, there is enough there for the average home theatre. It is easy to set up and the Onkyo heritage is evident in the interface. I'm still trying to get my head around it, but you are able to rename 4 of the 6 HDMI inputs. As an example, I renamed the Cable/Sat input to Media which then shows up on the display. The remote is far less complicated than my old Onkyo's. My Tannoy speakers just love it! All in all, it's a great amp for the price, and meets my every need.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Great sound system upgrade

Good sound but needs update to instructions
Great sound but nothing in instruction about how to fit banana plug speaker fittings. Turns out there are plastic inserts than need to be removed from the speaker terminals on the back of the amp and then you can use banana plugs.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

everything is good about it except the SUBWOOFER HAS PIN POINTS IN & all the rest is screw in which it much easier as not i can not use my Subwoofer from my 7-2 channel stereo ok other wise its perfect regards Ron
