Hotpoint class 4 MD454IXH
Bought this integrated microwave and grill last month, I did read reviews on it some really good and some not, I have to agree that it can be noisy but not all the time, it's when the magnatron kicks in, it's the body that vibrates a bit at times, when I put my hand on top of the cover the noise stops, so it probably needs better insulation or something to stop the vibration on the inside, but otherwise it's very quiet, grill next, some did say it's slow, and I have to agree, it's a quartz grill so should be quicker that why I bought one with a quartz grill, it does say in the instruction book preheat the grill for around 2 to 3 minutes, it shouldn't take this long, microwave, I must say it does cook vegetables quicker than my older microwave so that's good, now the control panel, well my mother just can't seem to understand it, and to be honest there's too much hallaballu to get going, first thing to do is choose what you want, say microwave, turn the dial and choose microwave, then you have to press the ok button, then you have to choose on what power you want, say 800, then again press ok, then it's the timer, choose your time by turning the dial or there's automatic 30 seconds on it, and then you press play, so there is a lot to do before you can start using it, but I must say I do like that you can add or reduce your time if you like with the centre dial, that's very handy, I might be wrong but there's no stop button on it, yes it stops when you open the door but I would like a stop button, open door to check put it back and press start to carry on, i had that with my older microwave, if the microwave has been on say for 15 minutes cooking veg then when it stops there's a fan that comes on to cool it down and it goes on for a while, there's a vent at the bottom of the door and it's in the way of me putting my trim back up inbetween my oven and the microwave, it blows warm air out, the build quality is very very good, stainless steel inside and out, and it's very heavy, so quality build, the inside is very easy to clean, the turntable is a really good size as is the interior, can put large casseroles in there, 12 month warranty and you get 10 year parts warranty, but you would have to use Hotpoints own engineers and pay around £130 for call out and labour once your 12 month warranty is up, I do like the front of the microwave it is very stylish, but when you buy something online you don't see everything and don't see all the functions, I suppose I will get used to it more the more I use it and be quicker with functions, but my mother still struggles to use it, oh I forgot to mention aswell, the touch controls can be hard to press, but I do try to be gentle with them and they do work, so sometimes they work with gentle touch and sometimes not, maybe I'm being too critical with my review but I need to be honest with my own views and try help others read what it does and doesn't do, and hope it helps.
