Nice Stripper - but Tricky up a Ladder
Hi! I was fitting LED lighting into my ceiling and moving a few wall sockets and saw this product recommended on You Tube as helpful for fitting Wagoboxes. It's a nice, robust wire clipper. I found it particularly helpful stripping through the 1.5mm and 2.5mm cable sleeve without damaging the enclosed insulated live/ neutral wires. The wire clipping action worked fine. To strip back the insulation on the wires themselves you have to press down on the stripper flanges (see pic). I found this made it a two-handed operation - a bit cumbersome to use on ceilings up a ladder. A robust stripper can't exactly also be super light - indeed it wouldn't be fair to call this stripper heavy - but it is quite big and not so easily manouevrable as the smaller strippers available. Also, you move a little red tab (see pic) to vary the distance of the cut. Swinging about up your ladder it was easy to knock this and inadvertently vary your selected cut. It was great and easy to use for the (off-ladder) wall sockets. In summary, I liked this stripper and found it very easy to use at ground level but it was a little less handy on ceilings up a ladder when I finished up using an old trusty stripper for the overhead connections. I liked it - but it was a bit gimmicky!

don’t buy the item
I have wasted my money in buying this item.It doesn’t make a minor difference when it’s used on the wax pot, I tried it on dried wax as it says in the instructions as well as by heating the wax pot in fact i left the solution in the pot for 30 minutes and it just stays and doesn’t make any difference. I wasn't sure about these being a gimmick. I was sceptical about buying this... I shouldnt have been.
I did a LOT of research into crimping tools as I didnt want to buy a piece of rubbish. There are that many options that I eventually got tired of looking and took a shot at these. I'm SO glad I did. I was rewiring my motorcycle and had some aftermarket LED's to also fit. The LED's came with the thinnest wire I've ever seen and was worried that the auto stripper wouldnt be able to strip such fine wire.
