Product Information

CHILD 44, based on the first book of a trilogy by Tom Rob Smith, tells the story of pro-Stalin MGB Agent Leo Demidov (Tom Hardy) who takes it upon himself to investigate a series of child murders. The state insists that such crimes do not exist in their country and that the idea of a child murderer, let alone a serial killer, is impossible. With the help of his wife Raisa (Noomi Rapace), Demidov continues to try and solve the case, despite being demoted and exiled.

    Child 44

    I chose to purchase this product without any knowledge of the story so my comments are completely impartial. It was a dark storyline but I found the more the film ran the more I become involved in the plot so from that point of view it was intriguing rather than something I would normally watch. I would not wish to comment further on the plot as it would spoilt it for someone who has never viewed. Suffice is to say that it is not something I would have purchased had I been aware of the storyline.
