A Great Introduction to 70's Prog-Crimson Live
There are currently dozens of King Crimson live albums and most are of superb gigs, KC being effortlessly fine performers throughout their long history. Many are recorded in good stereo, and the committed fan will have to pay a lot of money to acquire them. Those not yet obsessed with the band and seeking a few representative live sets should definitely pick up this remastered 1-disc 1974 live album as KC were at their 70s peak after a string of classic prog albums. Although not a complete gig you get over an hour of the group performing 9 mostly long tracks including bonus tracks Fracture and a great version of Starless. The obligatory 21st Century Schizoid Man is included as well as Asbury Park, an improvised piece only found on this album. It's true you get much more Crimson live on The Great Deceiver volumes 1 & 2 featuring live material from the same era, but this 'introduction' is both much cheaper and more concise.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Deluxe version Of USA.
Although this album has now been reissued as a double CD with even more content, unlike the trilogy of Larks Tongue, Starless and Red, this extended version of the original LP is ample, especially in light of the hours of contemporary live material that has since been made available. Whilst the choice of songs, the version of Easy Money and the studio overdubbing don't all fall in its favour, it still holds an important position in the King Crimson oeuvre.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned
