I like The Adventures of Superman and I see things I never noticed in the 60's when it was shown on BBC tv. Great fun a bit dated now but great fun seeing how they made many of the flying tricks and good acting for the day.

George Reeves plays a rather um chunky Man of Steel but then if you check out the many reprints of the early Supes tales his appearance is pretty much spot on. These episodes from the second season the last in Black and White introduce a slightly more playful Superman but it`s really Clark Kent who shines, this is not the bumbling, must protect secret identity at all costs of recents times. Quite how Lois and Jimmy never really cotton onto the fact that Clark and Superman are one and the same is the eternal mystery but hey it`s all great fun. Stand out episode which showcases Reeves acting prowness is where he plays triple roles as a criminal with a passing resemblance to Superman who has platic surgery to complete the look, of course Superman and Clark Kent. This episode really shows what a fine actor Reeves was. This is fantastic stuff from the 1950`s and really should be watched with that in mind. Look! Up in the Sky! is it a Bird? is it a Plane? No it`s Superman!Read full review
