Only bought this because I couldnt believe such a small device could hold so much data - yeah I now know they've been around for ages - was news to me though. It does what its supposed to do but to transfere 80gb of data, it was going to take over 3 days! So its handy for adding little bits of storage on the go - not so good for HUGE data dumps.

This seems a well made and robust item and provides an enormous amount of storage space for the price. As for reliability I haven't yet owned it long enough to make a judgement, but all ok so far. The downside of such an inexpensive item - and let's face it £10 for half a terabyte is extraordinarily cheap - is that data transfer rates are slow, very slow. This isn't an issue if you're backing up a handful of documents or a modest number of jpegs, but if like me, you're copying 100Gb of RAW image files it will take quite some time; we're talking potentially an hour or more. But if time isn't a major issue it's a great buy, provided of course, that all important reliability is maintained over time. Fingers crossed. WARNING: UPDATE AFTER 6 MONTHS AND VERY LIGHT USE. It's died. Unreadable and unformattable. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE! Caveat Emptor.Read full review

This 500GB FD Memory Stick has proved reliable and for the price exceedingly good value. Apart from having no manufacturers case markings, there appears to be no marked difference in performance from the upmarket brands.

I bought three of these. Plugged in, it displayed I was lucky to get 500 - that is not a definite, read the small print. But I have yet to get one working. I tried to transfer 100gb over to one of them, it was in its 16th hour before it decided to give up doing it at 30%. One of them refuses to be recognised by every PC I have in the house. I am sure there are 500gb+ usb sticks out there that work. These are not those. Avoid

I'm just being a bit fussy, as it is a good memory stick. Just can't watch video files on the TV as it isn't recognised. My only gripe, but definitely worth the money
