Podcast Rig
I use the Behringer Q1202USB to mix the audio for my podcast. For the money I think this is the best mixer I have ever had (This is my fourth mixer). All the controls work well, the mixer interfaced with Windows 10 without any problem and it is very quiet. The Aux send allows for skype or telephone call interviews (I wish there were 2 aux sends on this - looks like I'll be buying yet another mixer soon, and it will be Behringer). The only improvement I would like see is that Behringer give a unique name to its USB interface devices, I have 4 separate USB interfaces connected to my PC for hosting the show. Each time my PC restarts, the names of the USB devices are randomly assigned, and it takes an extra few minutes in order to figure out the sound routing on the computer, if Behringer created their devices to have unique identification usb connections, then this device would be 6 stars. After hooking it up to my computer, I found that I have to drive the volume so high that it brings a lot of noise into it. Although it looks like it would be great, it’s got such a weak signal that it makes it almost unusable. Even driving my sound modules into the auxiliary lines makes me turn them all the way up, and I’m tempted to run them off the headphones to see if I can get enough signal to make it usable. For the price and hook ups it works just fine for the amount of space I have.
