It's great. It can heat up a screwdriver in few seconds. The screwdriver gets gloving red. But the coil gets very warm too. The internal resistance of the coil which goes higher due to temperature raise of the coil limits the current through coil. Thus, maximal power is reduced. This is particularly noticeable when the load is of ferromagnetic material which is also a good electric conductor. To get maximum power you should install a water cooling system for the coil. MOSFET transistors doesn't gets heated at all. If you don't need to use it on max power level then you don't need a water cooling for the coil. I'm very satisfied with the product!

  • Induction Heater

I supplied it with 17 Volts DC at 15 Amps. I suspended a crucible in the coil and use it as a solder melting pot to tin large wires or coax braid. A momentary 30 A switch on PS output works fine...about 20 secs.

  • Works like a charm!

Simple, powerful and effective. Plenty of applications. You just need to make sure that you do not raise the supply voltage slowly as that will prevent the device from oscillating and cause one of the transistors to short in a single state. If you avoid this, the rest is easy. A screw driver will be red hot in a matter seconds! You may want to procure a graphite crucible with this.

  • Careful. Use a power limiter.

Careful use a power limiter I supplyed with a 18v 30A Transformer with Diode Bridge and 18800 Microfrade some big rusted nuts should be loosened ( it works ) I did not look at power consumption but could hear that the transformer was working and suddenly there was smoke from both mosfet's 2 new mosfet's mont and the 2 12V Zener

  • Very low cost way to play with induction heating

Works very well just be sure to apply power with a switch! DO NOT ramp up the applied voltage it will fail to oscillate and go poof! Enough power to heat a small graphite crucible to above 1000 C
