Although this cd shows a slight difference in style for the Hollies , there has been line up changes over the years , so its understandable . Well recorded ,and my copy is in very clean condition so plays well .

Love this CD! The Hollies sound has definitely evolved over the years due to personnel changes, but the songs are beautiful and Tony Hicks and Bobby Elliott are still going strong!

The Hollies have had a long and successful career. For me, as a long time Hollies fan, the retirement of singer Allan Clarke was a big loss as he was the sound of the Hollies. Without him the band could never be the same again. The Hollies continue to tour with only 2 of the original band members remaining i.e. Tony Hicks and Bobby Elliott. The current lead singer is Peter Howarth who sings well without having a particularly distinctive voice. So I was rather apprehensive about listening to a new studio album after such a long wait. I was not disappointed in that with all the changes in the group I had not been expecting great things anyway. The overall sound is very American AOR and if you like that then you will find this a pleasant album. Just don't expect the old Hollies magic because it isn't there. The songs are uninspiring and the general feel is of an inoffensive and unmemorable set of tracks. Production is fine if too safe and suits the style of the music. All in all a competent but unexciting effort. It won't frighten your grandmother. However if you are a fan of the original Hollies I suspect you will feel that this album doesn't compare to their earlier output.Read full review
