B movie extreme
This movie looked and sounded great. Normally I like B movies if a good storyline this one was a complete miss. It is a story based on Norse Viking Mythology and not even the good mythology. Even if you like the beginning or middle I doubt you will like how this one ends. Definitely not keeping this one in my sword and sorcery collection of old era to new. So I can't recommend it to others.

Like Greek mythology and Grimm's fairy tales for adults
Would describe this story as a mixture of something from Grimm's fairy tales, Lord of the Rings and Excalibur. If you appreciate Greek mythology and other cultures' legends, then you could enjoy this interpretation as I did. It's definitely an adult ending where the lesson learned is a painful one. This fantasy film about an ancient German legend is well done and I loved seeing familiar actors such as the great Max Von Sydow and the wonderfully elegant Julian Sands. I would recommend this DVD.
