  • Great sander good clamps not 1/4 sheet?!!

great sander but I couldn't get a quarter sheet onto it. I have to cut a standard sheet into three and then a sliver off on one edge etc to get the sandpaper to fit and hold on properly. So I might as well have bought the third sheet sander. Apart from that it seems to be up to usual makita quality . Very happy with the performance and power. Good thick lead on it and the switch works easily during operation. Suction works well but the bag gets full or clogged very quickly so I connect a hoover to it for any decent jobs which is fine.

  • Great gadget,

Initially dubious about it being square, rather than triangular (as previous two were). However, the gift of being able to use standard sheets of sand/wet/dry paper, slit into quarters, makes it SO much more economical to use! Also means no more infuriating 'good sheets falling off' as the velcro fails, as this one clamps the quarter sheets on (though it also takes the velcro sheets). It even came with what I thought was only a stand, but is actually a hole cutter and stand, so dust is sucked up through the holes in the paper, through the machine into the dustbag, (the other reason I bought this machine). The only downside, is that sometimes this bag comes off the machine for no apparent reason, hence 4* instead of 5*'s. If the bag stayed put (it's not being knocked off, I paid attention to that), then the machine would be 5*+. Would I buy this one again? Definitely!

  • Good unit

I guess it could be the name but having bought a really poor router recently it has been good to get my hands on something that doesn't feel as though it won't fail at the first outing.

  • Brilliant little palm sander.

As an antique furniture restorer I have had many of these over the years, I've tried others but always come back to my trusted Makita. The only negative is, and always has been, the very short length of mains cable it come with. Very inconvenient to be sanding with an extersion lead/socket trailing behind you!! Otherwise a brilliant, effective and reliable ¼ sheet sander. Much more economical on sandpaper too as you can buy a roll standard stuff and cut pieces to size yourself.

  • Great little sander

Quality item sits nicely in your hand and the vibration isn't too uncomfortable. Not overly noisy and comes with a hole punch plate for normal paper. Good value for the money.

  • Ideal for small jobs

Very well balanced compared to previous units I've used. Excellent for small jobs. Dust bag is a little small, but what you'd expect for something this size. No tingling vibration after you've used it. (again compared to other units) If you've a lot to do, it's not for you, small jobs, not a problem.

  • Palm grip workhorse. 😉

An excellent piece of equipment replacing the one I had for years.New version is more refined with good strong paper clamps with excellent end caps. What value.you have to go a very long way to beat Makita tools ,and Axminster tools are pretty good too.

  • Good quality

This is a powerful sander comes with velcro sanding sheets but you can cut your own from regular sheets of glass paper. It's heavier than a lot of the little palm sanders...but because of the weight and the robustness of the motor it gets through most task with ease and very little dust due to the bag attachment....

  • "Fully working" a bit of a stretch of the imagination. Had to buy extra spare parts to make it usable.
