Working experience.
This is a great portable product which I use for my camper van. I have the batteries set at 12v 300amp total. I have been experimenting with electrical products and this has been so useful for such as the fridge which ate a lot of battery juice. I am currently using this alongside a solar panel. Because I had the charger on high boost. To many amps were going into the battery reservoir. The charger intelligently switched itself off due to amps flooding the resovoir from the solar panel in addition to having the charger on high boost. The first time I used this the batteries were completely flat and brought them back to full life. My friend is a manager for Ford. Overheats...
Arrived very quickly, well packaged, in a smart box. Taking the unit from the box, it appears well made and solid. It's the wound transformer type rather than switching type, which is fine. Voltage is good, the ammeter is accurate. The cables are good. The only problem is that the thermal cut-out trips after about 2 mins (from cold) when on the 30A mode. This is when charging a single 130AH battery. On the low power mode (about 10A) it's fine. But then I might as well have bought a 10A charger, would have been smaller and cheaper. Others don't seem to have this issue so I guess I'll put it down to variable construction quality. But then it's pretty cheap. My Victron 30A charger was 170 quid, brilliant charger but you pay for it. Perhaps I'll open it up and see if I can put a cooling fan in it or something.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Battery charger 30amp
Does what it says, only given 4 stars, as had to Google what position to put switches in to charge normal 12v Battery, as instructions gives you a schematics drawing for what it does an how it charges, however after looking through the 4/5 page manual, I still none the wiser what position to put switches, I automatically switch to correct position by looking at the unit an studying it for a few mins, an Google confirmed I had them correct!
