Absolutly stunning!! Graphics are astonishing! AMAZING! Loved this film the first time I saw it and still love it today. A must see film. The action is intense and perfectly done, I have never seen fight scenes performed so beautifully. The story is brilliant and keeps you on the edge of your seat. Its so good you should be watching it now instead of reading this review!! You can watch it in Japanese with subtitles or if your not one for reading subtitles you can watch the film in English dub, and unlike many dubbed films Final Fantasy VII Advent Children has been dubbed very well. So all in all this film is epic and is a deffinate must see. 10/10!!
Two years later... Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children is the much anticipated sequel to Square's top selling game Final Fantasy VII: a full blown CGI movie! After Cloud saved the world from Sephiroth, the citizens of the planet begin suffering from a strange sickness called Geo-Stigma. Meanwhile, Cloud has secluded himself, and is being haunted by demons from his past...
I loved this film, the animation was excellent - truly faultless. Skintone was perfect, and the story too was very good. Even though it's based on a game, you can still watch the film without having played it and not feel you're missing anything. All in all Vincent Valentine was my favourite character, but the whole film was breathtaking. If you enjoy animation that's so good you occasionally forget that the characters are not real people, then this the movie for you. A story of self forgiveness 'Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children' is the way ALL animation and storytelling should go.
This film is closer to the original game world of the Final Fantasy Franchise. The CGI is awesome and more realistic than ever. I think its better than the Final Fantasy: Spirits Within film as that story, was disappointing and disjointed, dispite having ground breaking CGI at the time. Anyone that likes Final Fantasy VII should by this film, as the action, story and music is closer to the game. The story was good although a bit drawn-out but has some excellent and engaging moments. Check it out! I hope they make more films like this based on the characters of Final Fantasy VIII to Final Fantasy XII as there is an awsome amount of source material to use.
I bought it as a present for a friend who is a fanatical fan of Final Fantasy and adores Sephiroth. He says the film is great, but I don't think so. The graphical effects are amazing if the shot are focus on the faces for example, but some movements that the characters do are quite strange. However, I found this film quite enjoyable and the plot is quite good.
