Excellent value for your money for a very good belt sander.

A very comfortable machine to use. Has a great deal of power to get the job done. The best sander I have ever used. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a great belt sander.

    Good solid performer

This is pretty good - it does the job fine. What I do find frustrating though is that it’s difficult to get it into 90 degree corners to do a complete job and operating it “reverse handed” is difficult. I’m trying to refinish some open cantilever stairs so it’s a reasonably tough test and I’m happy enough. I’d have given it 4 stars but that rated it as “better than expected” which it isn’t. Delivery was super-fast so I was delighted with that.

  • Perfectly adequate.

I have had bigger and cheaper makes but they don't last and after using this machine it is worth the money. It is very user friendly, light and easy to empty the dust collector bag. I'm left handed and sometimes get a static shock from the bag but small enough not to worry about.

  • Well made good performer great value

Excellent sander performs very well indeed just as effective as its bigger brother 9403.I wanted a lightweight machine for sanding smaller moulded frame sections in our joinery workshop can't really fault it little bit dusty i don't see it as a problem just put a dust mask on or connect to vac, allways been a Dewalt man but these Makita sanders are top performers.

  • Robust and powerful

This 9911 replaces my previous 9911 which finally stopped working after 30 years of almost daily use. I had replaced a lot of the worn parts as I went along and I hope this one lasts like the old one. It looks as well built as my first one, in fact except for being absolutely clean you can't tell any difference between the two.

  • A good value robust machine

The machine itself is very good ,I had one before that lasted years and years. The belts must be centered properly or you will grind the base plate away, which is this machines only down side.

  • The Makita 9911 is very good

The Makita 9911 is very good, much better than I expected. It is powerful and very easy to use. Sanding belts are very easy to change and fit neatly. The dust bag is also very good, a decent capacity but, most importantly, an excellent filter for teh very fine dust.

  • Great sander

Very light and easy to control, does a great job of stripping back old surface paint to clean fresh wood.

  • Incredible sander. Sturdy, but light and compact enough to do more than just flooring

I absolutely love this belt sander. Worth every penny. It's solid as a rock and built like a tank. There's no rattle or flex whatsoever. It just feels 'proper'. You can immediately just tell it's premium. I was given confidence when I'd seen videos of ones that had been used daily for nearly a decade being repaired. Although Makita don't overly advertise it other than in small text on the label, this model is made in the UK. In their factory in Milton Keynes. They obviously take pride in their work as it's a solid properly made product with replaceable parts if you ever wear it out. Just like in the old days.

  • Noisy

Tool is a come down from the 4" machine but far to noisy even when used for very short periods. In short not patch on you other products. Will be embarrassed to recommend to other professionals!!!!
