This brilliant British comedy/drama series about three couples, all friends in their 30’s, is well worth watching. It’s down to earth, funny and endearing. As well as being a comedy series it is also great drama with superb acting. But be warned, you will soon be hooked and looking to buy the next four series! The pilot episode introduces the characters: Adam (James Nesbitt) is friends with couple Pete (John Thomson) and Jenny (Fay Ripley), while Rachel (Helen Baxendale) is friends with married couple Karen (Hermione Norris) and David (Robert Bathurst). It shows how Adam and Rachel came crashing (literally) into each other’s lives thereby bringing their respective friends into each others lives. When Adam and Rachel get together as a couple, eventually Adam gets cold feet about being in a relationship but as the prospect of losing her to someone else looms, he fights for her by serenading her naked with a rose in an unusual place! As the six friends come together in series one, Jenny and Pete’s baby is born, Adam and Rachel get a flat together while Karen and David get marriage guidance counselling. The series portrays the ups and downs of life for the various characters and some comic/true to life observations of possible pitfalls of relationships, friendships and parenthood. The good thing about Cold Feet is that it is not just a brilliant comedy, it is also great drama with some good storylines and observations.Read full review
