Must have - if you must have it.
The hinge design for the thin Apple iMac computers leaves a lot to be desired. Someone at Apple thought plastic washers under bolt heads that hold the hinge spring was a good idea. Well, it wasn't. When the plastic washers have had enough, they fail, and the spring no longer holds the display upright. What you have then, is a display that tilts forward. Options? Put a few books under the bottom of the display... but that may restrict airflow being sucked in from the bottom causing the internals to overheat. Or, take it apart, risk cracking the screen, and struggling with a kit sold on eBay (almost guaranteed to tear up your fingers) to replace the broken plastic washers with a steel plate. Or... this thing. The idea is absurdly simplistic. It's a brace that you slide on the stand, turn a locknut, and you're done. Out of sight, out of mind. Just remember to loosen the locknut if you need to adjust the angle of your screen, and then tighten (but not too tight) again.
