Great Buy
This is a great deal! You save yourself $100 by buying a re manufactured unit. Could have been return just because someone made a impulse buy or there was a problem with it. It is rebuilt and backed by the original manufacturer, so it is essentially a new unit. I went with this version to be able to tune a 2013 Dodge Charger. I then purchased a additional vehicle license to tune a 2005 Chevy Silverado. With the tune on the charger, I gained about 40 hp and have improved my gas mileage from 18 mpg to 20 mpg. Early hemi owners beware...
Well, let me start by saying the Mag runs alright NOW. I bought the I3 tuner as a refurbished unit. Was supposed to have all the latest updates. For the first 2 days i was back and forth between the laptop updating and the car, telling me it wasnt supported, needs updates. FINALLY for whatever reason, it decides to work. I went first for the 93 octane CAI tune. It let change tire size, speed limits, rev limits and so on. Did everything as instructed and when instart the car, 2 cylinders are dead. A long list of codes pop up. To get anything to happen, i had to pull the pcm fuse. I will say customer service has been awesome with helping via email. Staying right on top of it with suggestions. The Mag finally runs well now. Still has an engine light on, MDS is turned off and throws the code. It shifts firmer, better response in the throttle and maybe a but more bottom end. Its all a timing thing anyway. If i had to buy a new unit, i would take that money and have it dyno tuned. easy to used and change setting to your liking on the hemi wish the west coast have 93 plus octane at local gas stations so I can take full advantage to the tune instead had to run the 91 setting, The main thing is great on making changes to PCM

Meh!
I bought this with the intent to increase the MPG of my '11 RAM 5.7 since I am satisfied with the stock HP/TQ. I installed the 87 Octane tune and immediately noticed the torque control for traction control was reduced to and ineffective level, not happy about that since I drive county roads in the winter and 4WD isn't always neccessary. After driving normal I noticed the MDS was disabled, I gave it a try to see what the MPG result was, no loss but no gain either. I retuned with the MPG BOOST tune, still no torque control but the MDS is active again. With 87 octane there was still no gain in MPG and 91 octane is not looking promising either. I've contacted their tech support and was told that yes their tunes reduce the amount of torque control and are not user end adjustable(custom tune maybe $$) and recommend to use 91 fuel with the 87 tune for a MPG gain. So far I'm not impressed and would only recommend this if you're wanting perfomance increases and not mileage gains.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Screen gets lines thru it it locks up wont do anything next y pay almost 400 for turn off mds and turns check engine light on might as well just unplug mds under hood if u turn off traction control with it it sets more lights than if u use button on car i put a tune in my car only thing i noticed throttle body acted different and slow to idle down and i have exhaust and cold air and only run good gas waste of money i really would expect something better for the money and i followed all instructions also been building engines and trannies for over 40 years I will never buy another that is for sureVerified purchase: YesCondition: New

Pass, unless you plan on using 93 octane fuel?
Updated this unit about 20 times and just keeps accepting updates. Finally gave up and used it on 2014 ram 1500. Can't change shift points. Can't turn off mds. Didn't notice much if any power increase on 87 octane tune. Seemed to kind of help bogging engine by shifting at better times, but still doesn't down shift when it should. Ordered this tuner for my truck. Hooked it up to my computer and used the WiFi feature on the tuner to check for updates as recommended. No updates were needed. Brought the tuner out to my truck, selected advanced tune because I wanted to adjust some settings as well as tune my truck. Installed the 87 octane tune, disabled the MDS system and added the 20% boost to throttle sensitivity. Install took about 10 min total. My truck drives so much better now and my MPG's are up!
