A cracking good yarn
A rarity, a very well done Television Movie. Within the confines of the restrictions of the small screen this does a very good job of telling a good story. I've never read the source material , but I understand certain changes have been made , but none that appear detrimental to the overall story. It starts slowly, but that lays the foundation of a cracking good yarn. Veteran British actor James Mason steals the show, but the rest of the cast are of a high quality. Still as good as when it first came out
I am afraid i was only seventeen when i first watched this film.I was on the edge of my seat,so intense,scared stiff.It is still a great film,with great characters,and actors,i am not scared now though.In fact i watch horror movies on the tv because they make me laugh more then scaring me.It is about time someone brought out a really lifelike movie to really make my hair stand on end.I remember,exactly what happened in this film,but this time i just enjoyed it.It will always be an iconic film.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

A classic horror that still packs a punch.
Good story, good acting, no silly special effects. Just a little tame by todays standards, but the remake was awful. Multi layered story with plenty of sub plots.
