I've had a pair of the St 4000s for a couple of years now and they've never let me down so when I needed a new pair of bigger reels for my piking needs I had no problem in deciding on a pair of St 6000s. Bought to replace a pair of much loved but completely knackered GT3500 Aero baitrunners after 20 years+ service. If these are the latest BUDGET Mid-size Shimano Baitrunners I'd love to own their top end stuff. The ST6000RB is very well built from quality materials (XT-7) and are very, very smooth - exactly as you would come expect from any Shimano reel. I simply cannot fault them for the price. The clutch is very smooth and precise with no snatching, bail arm trip is very positive, line roller works smoothly and there is absolutely no backlash in anti-reverse whatsoever. At the cheap end of the Shimano range, this baitrunner does nothing to surprise you. Not loaded with fancy things and coming with a single spool, you get what you pay for. For around £40 there's nothing wrong with this reel if all you want is a simple baitrunner for entry level specimen angling.
