Stops the cat getting the butter!
I was looking for a heavier weight butter dish than the stainless steel one I had been using to stop my naughty puss cat knocking the lid off and stealing the contents... So far so good, although she is a little tormented by being able to see the butter, but not now being able to get at it! Also, because it is glass, I will now be able to keep the butter in the dish in the fridge, out of sight of said puss, then pop it in the microwave to soften which I couldn't do with my old one. Often there is a huge difference between what you think you are buying and what you receive, this butter dish is not one of those products, it is as good as it looks it the listing.
