Not only for landing gear
AK likes to label every wash for a particular use, but of course, there are no rules about it. This is a very dark dirty grey colour, more neutral than the usual brown or green hues of dark washes. This makes it versatile for a number of uses on aircraft and vehicles, when you want to represent inorganic grime. And yes, it looks very good on landing gear struts as well.
