Great camera, sharp pictures with spot-on metering. I have been shooting Kodachrome with it, and the results with -1/3ev compensation has been excellent. It is probably about as small as you can get in a 35mm film camera. Excellent control if you want to select your own aperture and focus distance for creative reasons. Other reviews have cited the flash going off all the time, but that automatic function can be turned off relatively simply and flash can be selected whenever it is needed. I have never found this to be a problem. The battery life was also cited as another problem. My average is about 2+ rolls of 36 film before a replacement. You can get the batteries for a lot cheaper on line than in stores, so I stock up and never had a problem. My "Moderately Still Picture" comment is based on the shutter speed on the camera. If you have VERY bright light, you can force it to shoot at 1/500, but normally it max out at 1/250. So if someone is really jittery things might get blurry, but I don't shoot fast moving things with this camera and expect a clear shot. And the camera has no adapter for filters, so if you need to use filter, I guess you are hold a sheet filter in front of the lens. This might mess with the auto focusing, sooo.... I still like my SLRs, but I carry this camera with me most of the time and really have enjoyed taking pictures with it. The camera is very capable and would rarely be the limiting factor hindering your picture taking creativity.Read full review
I shoot mostly vintage 35mm manual rangefinder cameras, but I decided to pick up a point and shoot camera for every day use. Great metering system, excellent autofocus system, smart flash controls, flexible program AE and most of all, aperture priority AE as well. That is what I asked for in a P&S camera and after weighing all my options for a high end point and shoot 35mm camera I opted for the Nikon 35Ti. Nikon hit the nail on the head with all of the above along with Nikkor quality glass and a Titanium chassis. It has a 35mm Nikkor lens with an f/2.8 aperture. Coupling that lens with Nikon's Matrix metering system and their 866 step AF system and you can bet you'll be nothing but pleased with your photo results. It's proven itself to me already after just 2 rolls of film. It's no cheap little point and shoot mind you, so keep in mind it originally retailed for $1,000. It's got a nice heft in your hands without being too heavy or large and the controls are where they need to be. The panorama feature is pointless today but it was requisite for point and shoot cameras of that era. The fill flash, no flash and red eye features work very well, with the first two options coming along with a slow sync. And marrying that with Nikon's matrix metering system and you get really well balanced photos. Today, you can get one in decent shape for under $300 and one in excellent shape for about a $400. Look out for the last iteration of this camera. You can tell by the flash control, it's got a 3 way switch like the 28Ti has, as opposed to the 2 buttons. They are both functional, but I consider the flash control from the 28Ti to be more thought out and frankly better. And a quick mention about the 28Ti, which is this camera but with a 28mm f/2.8 lens and a black body instead of the gold-tone of the 35Ti. The 28Ti is more sought after, a bit more expensive and more rare since they were made for fewer years. If 28mm is more your thing, like the Ricoh GR and such, than strongly consider the 28Ti as well. Either way...great cameras! So If the option comes up for a high end point and shoot, definitely consider this camera; I recommend it highly. You will not be disappointed.Read full review

Hands down, best 35mm point and shoot out there, especially for the price. Exceptional lens and metering, awesome viewfinder, and most of all, awesome look with the dials on the top! I would absolutely recommend this camera to anyone, amateurs and professionals alike!

I've been hearing excellent things about this camera for years but never really believed just how good it could actually be till I bought one. The lens on this camera is s-h-a-r-p-! It is easily one of my better lenses and much sharper and flare free than any 35mm Nikkor wide angle I've shot with. It is truly amazing! Paired with Nikon's excellent Matrix metering and small size, this 35Ti and I have rapidly become inseparable. I would definitely recommend you try one. I am considering buying a second 35Ti. I like it that much. Hernando
