Good Old VCR!
My original Sony DVD/VCR unit was acting up, but I still wanted to use it for older tapes (movies) and occasionally to record from TV to VHS (yes, I still do that!). Disappointing machine..
I was excited to get this machine considering it plays both VHS tapes and dvds. With that said the VHS side of the machine plays tapes great but the dvd player will not play several of my dvds which is extremely disappointing. Lightweight great picture SONY
In this day in time, NEW dvd & vhs combo players are absolute. Unless you want to spend TOP dollar $ 400.00 and up. I have alot of old movies both on DVD and VHS. I was very happy to find this one at a great price. It looks NEW plays great. Very happy to once again watch a movie. These days to much politics on TV. Recording and playback fine but VHS tape hangs up on loading and unloading.
VHS tape cassette is difficult to load and eject but works with a bit of help. Something is a bit off with the mechanism on this used machine. Shouldn't be like this, I had one of these exact machines for 10 years before the picture playback went bad on it. I bought this to replace the one I have that is exactly the same. I'm very happy with the picture and of course it's easy to use as I'm already familiar with it.
