If you're reading this, you most likely know what a classic Fly Like An Eagle is. So what you need to know is if the bonus tracks and the dvd are worth the extra money. The short answer is yes. The bonus tracks are interesting, but not essential. Ditto, the concert footage. The real prize here is the interview with Miller. He explains the making of the Eagle and Dreams albums, and talks about some of his influences. Great stuff. One more thing, if you can find a copy of the King Biscuit Steve Miller concerts, grab it. At this time there is only one copy on ebay, and the price tag was $66. I wouldn't spend that much, but it is 5-star.
This one gets the "Deluxe 30th Anniversary Edition" treatment, and what a treatment. This is LOADED TO THE GILLS! The CD contains the original album plus three bonus tracks, the most notable is the Fly Like An Eagle '73 demo, a song that Miller tinkered with and played live before finally releasing it in its present form. The DVD is also LOADED TO THE GILLS! It's got an interview, a two-hour-plus live show from 2005 and you can even listen to cuts of the album on the DVD! One of the best re-releases out now!!!
