It's a pretty solid shooter. With Battlefield you get your basic action war elements, but you're also on a dangerous hunt for gold while being followed by a mysterious Mercenary cult that call themselves the LEGIONNAIRE. Each level/map starts off with gold and collectibles hidden through the map. Any gun you use or pick up for the first time is considered a collectible, and the more collectible and gold you find the more achievements you get. The number of things you can blow up is almost endless, I probably spent a good 5 hours blasting down trees and knifing down fences. That alone is a reason to look for a cheap or reasonably priced copy. However, the game is relatively easy and even on the hardest difficulty you can beat it in under a week. If your looking for another war game to put on the shelf with Call of Duty and Brothers in Arms, then try Battlefield.Read full review
It was a lot of fun, and I know a lot of people want a comparison to Call Of Duty 4. So here it is...It is about as much fun as COD4 to play, but has some significant difference that I don't like. here they are. 1. You can't go prone (lay down) 2. You can't upgrade your weapon (adding different scopes and colors) 3. You can't edit your kit (Match main weapons with side weapons and different grenades etc.) Some differences I don't mind 1. don't regain health unless medic helps you, or you have an auto injector. 2. bonus points for different types of kills (headshot, avenger, savior, knifed, etc.) 3. longer respawn time (some may not like it, I think it encourages you to live longer, and not do anything stupid) And some difference I love (these make the game) 1. You can drive vehicles like tanks, buggy's, golf carts, boats, helicopters, etc.(always wanted that in COD4) 2. The laser designator (Everyone who plays Bad Company will agree, being able to guide a missile into a tank is awesome) 3. Squads (some people think this shouldn't belong as a strength, but i beg to differ. Squads create a more personal team, you don't argue or trashtalk, so its more about the game, its easier to organize four people than 12, making co-operative attacks very effective. It is more realistic and brings more skill to the game) My ultimate deduction, is that both games are great, and you really have to play both the same amount before deciding. If they could be made better i don't think it would be hard. All that has to be done is that the Pro's from both games be merged, it isn't that hard, just needs a bulb to go off in one of the companys. P.S. Don't poo-poo either of them until you have played the same number of hours, or at least close. Everyone knows switching games can be hard and make you dislike the new game, give the other one a chance.Read full review
Battlefield bad company was quite an experience to be play first i want to start off by saying that the destruction engine this game uses is quite amazing and gives the game a sense of realism as well as helps you destroy, find, enter enemy bases etc. so the single player in this was very addictive with its funny and war torn story line and throughout most of the single player campaign there really isn't a way you cannot take in getting by the mission by destroying and making your own path to victory.which makes this game extremely fun as well as enjoyable and addictive.multiplayer is even more of an addictive and fun experience and once again there isn't a wrong way to take down your opponents in the game thanks to the destructible environment's.there are two online game modes which doesn't seem like a lot but its worth it.you have gold rush mode in which you either begin as the defender or the attackers, being a defender in "gold rush" you start off on a area were you are put up to defending a (metal or steel lol i don't know)box.to defend this box it can be shot at set charged or blown up in any fashion from what iv seen.Your job is to protect that from happening. As a defender destroying the opposing team and reducing there respawn count which i believe stands out as a red bar on the top of the screen so keep and eye on that because if you reduce that before they destroy the boxes or not at all the game ends and you and your team is victorious.its vice versa for attackers I really don't need to explain.now the other game mode is conquest mode from the start this needs to be downloaded from the xbox live its free so don't be upset!with "conquest" mode just like battlefield 1943 you and your team need hold battlefield positions marked with flags and reduce the opponents bar (again) to nothing very fun...be creative when I play what I do is defend the base from the bush or in the shadows of an attic but beware sometimes when playing your cover will be blown when either the window you looking through is reduced to nothing and your forced to hide again or death. all and all battlefield bad company is quite and experience there are vehicles to be in some that can be piloted by multiple people(s)and others that can be used to defend bases which I can't say everything don't want to spoil it so here is my review hope that it helps.Read full review
(This review concerns the multiplayer portion of the game. The campaign, though not horrible, isn't really worth it in the long run) I have a love hate relationship with this game. Bad Company manages to pull one over on the Call of Duty series with it's huge battlefields, gameplay mechanics, destructible environments and vehicle usage YET still manages to infuriate me every now and again. Reason being: some very slow and sometimes nearly unresponsive controls. I can't tell you how many times switching weapons has gotten me killed. The time it takes to switch from gun to knife to gun again is ridiculous in itself. So I'm stuck loving this game for the originality and entertainment while in the same instance cursing it every time I feel I've been unfairly killed. It's a bit like staying happily married to someone you hate...Read full review
Being a hard core battlefield fan this game was a perfect fit for me. However unlike ever before you can now blow up everything. Yes everything. that is the best part of this game. If someone if hiding behind a wall in a house, blow the house up! -The single player was not the best in the world, but then again any single player battlefield makes is not vary good. The AI is really, really bad. As soon as you shoot your gun every AI in the area will instantly start shooting at you and they don't miss. That + the fact that it just the same old every time you roll into a town. Towards the end you tend to just drive past hostiles because they ant worth stopping for. The single player cut scenes are well done tho, and they are funny. -Online play is some of the most fun I have had online. Blow up everything as you and over 20 other players fight with tanks and hand to hand. There are little problems like there is little to no splash damage, and grenade launchers to next to no damage. And some other problems with shots being delayed and faulty knifing system. But all for all Great online play.Read full review
