To me this unit is almost faultless. You can record in HD or ordinary mode and both are really good quality. With its massive hard drive you can record anything of you Sat Nav Box or any live palying TV progaram, onto the hardrive and watch it when you want to, and also then copy it as you watch to a DVD+ or - Disc to build your own libray of favs. All funtions are so easy to understand, although you will learn them as you go along. I use mine daily amnd record up to 20 hours a week onto discs with no problems once I'd got the gist.

I decided to buy an LG or Panasonic DVD recorder as my past experience has shown that these makes are first class and extremely reliable. My previous DVD recorder was an LG and gave five years sterling service before it stopped keeping the correct date & time. Found my purchase very easy to use as it was the same make. Since my purchase I have seen a Panasonic DVD recorder with a similar spec and a little cheaper but that is always the way. Have had some excellent purchases from ebay and found them at least satisfactory and mostly very good value, the vendors have all been most helpful and a pleasure to deal with.
I bought it because it had a moderste hard disk facility as well as a DVD record facility. I have owned an earlier version of this machine and was satisfied with its performance. Secondly the price was right. The product isn't to user friendly but can be worked out in the end.
