fantastically flexible; not self-servicible
Awesome audio quality, and a wonderful flexibility in terms of audio inputs (XLR, line-in), recording formats, and portability. Upgrading the firmware is a cinch (just follow online instructions). No need to only buy the V2 to get the better user interface. I tried to use 1/4" stereo inputs, but it did not want to work with them for some reason. It is a bit of a pest to get the port open to get to the memory card slot, but I am sure that is on purpose.
For tinkerers: there is only a 1 year warranty on this thing. If it breaks (mine burned out), getting it apart is NOT easy, and many of the parts are integrated together (i.e., display and power circuits are on the same PCB), so that replacing only a bad power system, or only a broken LED display is essentially impossible.
