Rowan has been producing realistic combat flight simulations since the days of 486 class PC's and DOS operating systems. Following in the line of critically praised games like Dawn Patrol, Flying Corps Gold, and Mig Alley, Rowan releases their Battle of Britain, which is set in during one of the most decisive conflicts of the second World War.<br><br>During World War II, the capture of England became an important part of Hitler's military strategy and in the summer of 1940, Germany began regular air attacks against Britain to make way for a full-scale invasion. This invasion never took place, however, due to the defense provided by a handful of British pilots against the endless waves of German fighters. In Rowan's Battle of Britain, players board their fighters and take to the skies to relive the conflict that Churchill predicted would be remembered as England's "finest hour."<br><br>Players have the option of flying for either England or Germany through these historically accurate battles. Player's can choose to fly the Hurricane or Spitfire of the Royal Air Force, or the German ME-109 or ME-110. As in the actual battles, attacks may also involve bombers and Italian fighter planes, which are controlled by the computer. Rowan's Battle of Britain also supports multiplayer options in several modes of play.
