Product Information
Drawing experience from their previous golf titles (Front Page Sports: Golf and Sierra Sports Golf Pro '98), Sierra's PGA Championship Golf 1999 contains many new major features in addition to enhancements of minor details affecting game play and presentation. Of immediate note is the inclusion of a course designer, the Course Architect, which affords the user the opportunity to replicate any real course in the world as well as fictional layouts. The feature also includes an innovative option to build full course landscapes in addition to hole-by-hole construction.

The game ships with eight pre-designed courses that include Jocassee Shoals and seven championship style layouts: Sahalee Country Club, site of the 1998 PGA Championship; Black Diamond Ranch; Pasatiempo; Coeur d'Alene Resort; Pete Dye Golf Club; The Prince Course in Kauai; and The Royal Birkdale. The "Interactive TrueSwing" method of hitting shots, introduced in a previous title, has been expanded to include not only the original vertical action but a horizontal "TrueSwing" as well. Although a third option, the traditional "Tri-Click" method is also still available, the game is geared more toward the "TrueSwing" method.

PGA Championship Golf 1999 features 12 types of play, customizable golfers from their hat down to the shoes, multiple (15) adjustable camera angles, and tournament play. Analysis during the game is provided by Grant Boone with color commentary by Mark Lye. Free Internet multiplayer options will be available via the World Opponent Network (www.won.net) and support for LAN or modem play is provided. As with the Jack Nicklaus series of golf simulations, user-created courses will be available for free downloads on the Internet (e.g, teebox.coursedepot.com).Product Identifiers
