Greek and Latin simply done.
I have used this curriculum with my older child who has now graduated college and we are beginning it again with my youngest. I never took a Latin class in school so I was a bit nervous to dive into this study. English from the Roots Up made teaching and understanding this subject easy. The lessons are just enough not to overwhelm and they helped with spelling and comprehension of vocabulary with great success which is what I really was aiming for when we began looking for a curriculum to use. We used the cards as well that can be purchased separately. We will be using volume 2 next. This is a great way to introduce your child/students to Latin and Greek. The instructions in the front of the manual are very helpful and give great tips on how to use. Makes Latin and Greek acessible to everyone.
This book is built on such a simple concept; that Latin and Greek words make a big piece of our language and they can be broken down into blocks that are put together to form a huge number of words. The information included in the book is interesting and simple enough not to be overwhelming but has definitely expanded my understanding of the English language and so I am super happy to give my children the advantage of understanding these things earlier. I bought another curriculum designed to provide the same information but I don't think that my children will retain much, however, making cards and repeatedly going over them and using them to form words will have a much more lasting effect.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned
