  • Camera Bag Sigma 150-600 and others.

Excellent and tough bag! I use a Nikon D810 and D700 with the Sigma 150-600 amongst others and this fits with ease. The bag is very robust, the main zip is also very robust. The 2 straps that come with the bag are well made, the back pack ones are a little lighter than the heavier duty shoulder strap. The back pack straps could do with maybe a little extra padding, being only 40mm wide they may cut in a bit if on a long hike. However the shoulder strap is 50mm webbing with a nicely padded 90mm grippy shoulder piece. All the fixtures and fittings are metal, or good quality nylon clasps. Down one side of the bag, at the bottom is a foot pocket for a smaller tripod with a retaining strap a little further up to lock the tripod in place. From the foot of the tripod pocket to the retaining strap is 300mm so it would only carry a smaller tripod or a travel tripod. On the opposite side is 3 webbing loops and at the bottom there is a mesh external pocket for a drink bottle or odds and ends this has a draw string fastening. On the top lid is a nice padded carry handle this is further strengthened with securing straps either side with nylon clasps that are secured when the bag is zipped up. At the rear of the bag is a 120mm wide padded and meshed belt loop. Below this, is a pocket that contains a fitted and elasticated shower cover that is fixed by a tape, so that it cannot be lost, and the pocket is secured with Velcro. The front of the bag has a zip up pocket inside the the large pocket is one wide and two narrower slip in pockets maybe for a phone, you might get a cable release in and a filter. The main part of the pocket you would certainly get a couple of spare batteries, cable release and a couple of filters. Inside the bag is a soft felt type material, in the lid there are 3 pockets you would get a couple or more Compact Flash cards in each and a fair few SD cards. Inside the main body of the bag is a pair of shaped dividers to supposedly support the camera body. They are shaped and would not fit my camera lens combination, they were far to thick to fit between the camera body and lens body. This is my only negative part of the review really, the biggest issue is Velcro on all dividers is no where near good enough to support a camera body let alone with a heavy 150-600 on the end of it. The Velcro is meant to adhere to the inner felt type liner of the bag, however it doesn’t. It’s not the quality of the Velcro, it’s the felt like liner of the bag. I have tested the liner with my own Velcro with the same results. However in my opinion small negative on what is a brilliant bag. This would only be an issue if you had a smaller lens on the camera and wanted to carry another lens in the bottom section. With the 150-600mm fitted it occupies the total volume of the bag. I will make up some padding or use those dividers turned around to support the body should I need to. I may sew Velcro to the inner liner to achieve this. The bag will easily carry the camera and lens with the tripod mount fitted and if suitable strong dividers were made you could carry a 70-200 and another wide angle 24 or similar at the bottom. With the 150-600 fitted and the lens bottomed out on the bottom padding there is still 50mm behind the camera body. There is an additional divider supplied but it also suffers from the same Velcro problem. This is an excellent bag for the money and near perfect! It suits my needs well and I like its robustness, the Velcro is a minor issue. The alternatives available are near twice the price. Great value, took about 10 days to come, seller communication was good. Very pleased👍
