If you're after a phone to sit and look stylish in your room, this is perfect and contemporary for that. However, if you want to use it as well, that's an issue. There is nothing wrong with my telephone line with my old phone connected, but this phone makes it crackly, muffled and quiet. The line sound changes as I move the handset about too, so any calls received or made are awful. I cannot recommend such an appallingly bad device. I am so disappointed. Thankfully it's for my bedroom so will get little use.

This phone looks great, has a small footprint and is well made. Sound quality and volume are reasonable, but not impressive. However, it has very poor instructions, no screen and no simple switch to turn the ringer off, as, in our case, it is in our bedroom. But, as there are not many decent corded telephones around anymore, due to everyone having Mobile Telephones, it is probably the best that you can get.
